I created a word game using screenshots & ChatGPT
Also I recorded my first-ever podcast - do watch!
Hello everyone 👋
I wish you a Happy New Year - I hope you make some amazing games this year, and if you do - please share them with me!
Word Game with ChatGPT
Yesterday, I created a word search game using ChatGPT and it took me about 60 minutes to implement the core mechanic.
You can watch the entire video speedrun [sped up 3x]. It covers:
🌟Making a game idea mockup, taking a screenshot and sending it to ChatGPT
🌟Discussing the implementation of scripts in the project
🌟Grid management and object spawning in Unity
🌟Taking screenshot of errors and sending it to ChatGPT to debug
🌟Completing the core gameplay of word search game
How not to use ChatGPT to create a game - my first podcast!
This was my second attempt at doing so. In my first attempt with Roman, we approached ChatGPT from a noob perspective - asking it many questions about what goes where in Unity, which led to a slow and lengthy conversation, creating a lot of friction between the interaction.
In my opinion, if you are already good at game-dev and have ample programming knowledge - then such tools will amplify your experience in a positive way!
Hence we decided to record a conclusion podcast on our experiment!
Do watch the podcast about ChatGPT, it covers:
✅ Best practices for game asset generation.
✅ Do's and don'ts of developing a mobile game with ChatGPT 4.
✅ Insights into my own custom GPT, "GPT Game Dev."
✅ Where to find valuable resources on AI for mobile game developers.
I will see you again next week with some more game-dev experiments and insights!
Meanwhile, if you have any questions related to game-dev, please reach out!
Feel free to connect with me on Twitter - where I will share updates of my upcoming games!
Until next time,
Anul
