6 months of writing on LinkedIn and I am a Top-Voice 🔵 Here is how:
6 months ago, I decided to actively write on LinkedIn about game development. And in January, I became a Top Voice (the blue badge).
LinkedIn is the ultimate tool to network in the games industry and hence I started writing out of my experience on how to make games.
My content creation process
Well, I don’t follow a specific process or any system to write articles. I love to experiment with ideas in Unity and ChatGPT and share my process + results.
It is important to show the audience how to do something and what you can gain at the end.
But please don’t be generic in your posts. No one wants to know the best practice for writing a movement controller in Unity, they can just google it.
Have your own opinion and flavor to your ideas and experiments.
However, now I have come to a point where I plan to systemize my process write articles more consistently, and even schedule them ahead of time!
LinkedIn Creator Program
After consistently posting for the first 2 months, I was invited by LinkedIn to join their 6-week creator program.
In this interactive program, they tell you the best practices to write and grow your audience on LinkedIn.
They talk about the different tools and features available on the platform and how to become the go-to person in your niche! You also get to interact with other folks in the program and network along the way.
The creator program was a huge boost to my writing skills and I could see a drastic change in my written article’s engagement and traction.
Memes
I am a huge fan of posting meme content. My memes are highly curated and specific for the game-dev audience.
Memes are a great example of ‘Conveying more by talking less’. Just a picture, a caption and you are done.
My memes receive enormous engagement, laughs, and reactions from the audience!
Game Development as a niche
Game Development as a niche for content creation is under-explored. There are very few creators out there who share their processes and journey along the way.
I encourage more game devs to share their journey and process!
That is all for now!
